Late breaking news
THE Northern Beaches Review went to press on Tuesday afternoon with the below story, but later that evening we received a call from Australia Post.
A spokesperson told the NBR that after much confusion a 'for lease' sign in the post office's window has now been removed.
Also, a location for the suburb's temporary pop-up post office is still being considered, but is expected to open in "another few weeks".

CONFUSION reigns over the still-closed Manly Post Office, with customers told to collect their mail suburbs away, and real estate agents instructed not to talk.
The Central Avenue store was among dozens of Manly businesses left flooded during wild weather in mid March, and it has remained closed ever since.
There are two signs on the post office's front door - one tells customers it's only a temporary closure, the other is a 'for lease' sign erected by Belle Property Commercial.
An Australia Post spokesman said the damage from floodwaters was extensive, but assured the Northern Beaches Review that the store would reopen, despite the advertisement saying it was for lease.
"A full re-fit of the premises is required, which will take some time to complete," he said. "Australia Post remains focused on restoring a full-service post office to Manly as soon as we can."
The NBR contacted the two Belle Property Commercial agents listed on the sign and while Klaudia Brown said no comment, James Willing said "I've been asked to keep it all confidential".
The Australia Post sign on the door said while "times are uncertain" they hoped to be open in a couple of weeks.
"Due to the ongoing fallout from the recent flooding, Manly PO is temporarily closed from March 18," it states. "This is because the health and safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority."
The Australia Post spokesman confirmed a temporary pop-up post office will open in the suburb soon.
"Australia Post is working to confirm its temporary pop-up site in Manly in the coming days, and once confirmed it will look to open in the coming weeks," he said.
In the meantime, customers must collect their PO box mail and carded parcels at Dee Why Post Office. The nearest counter services are in Balgowlah and Warringah Mall.
The Australia Post spokesman said there was a lease in place until December 2022 for the Central Avenue site. Also, that there are no plans to close any post offices on the northern beaches.
