LIME Cordiale, and Angus and Julia Stone, headlined a free concert and political rally in Avalon on Sunday, to help capture the support of young voters for independent candidate Dr Sophie Scamps.
The two northern beaches bands were part of a star-studded line-up, that also included local band Sons of the East and comedian Dan Ilic.
Climate campaigners Izzy Raj-Seppings and Tim Silverwood were also at the rally.
Organisers say around 1000 people, mostly aged 18-35, attended the free event in Dunbar Park on Sunday afternoon.
"This election is critical for everyone, but especially for young Australians," Dr Scamps said.
"The decisions made in our parliament over the next three years will determine the type of future they inherit. Young people want to know that politicians are listening to them and acting in their best interests on the issues that matter and impact their lives."
Oli and Louis Leimbach from Lime Cordiale said they have previously never come out in support of a candidate during an election.
"We've never really got into politics, before cause it's just so contradictory and a little bit icky," Oli said.
"Now there's a big change of independents that are standing for things that we stand for so it really feels like a moment of change."
Comedian Dan Ilic, who emceed the event said: "Integrity, climate action, and empathy - these are things I'm looking for in a life partner, but alas I hear Sophie is taken. She will have my vote, but not my heart," he said.
It's not the first time that Lime Cordiale has thrown their support behind independents this federal election campaign, after they released a hilarious video calling on people to vote for climate change supporters.
Sunday's acts weren't the first celebrities who've come out to support Dr Scamps during her campaign for election in the Mackellar electorate.
She has previously gone surfing with former pro surfer Tom Carroll, and last week Better Homes and Gardens cook/presenter 'Fast' Ed Halmagyi emceed her rally at United Cinema in Avalon.
