FIVE more people have died as NSW added 345 additional cases to its COVID-19 tally.
Vaccination rates continue to climb steadily, with 92.7 per cent of people over the age of 16 vaccinated with one dose. For double doses, the figure is 83 per cent.
The new cases were detected through 76,594 tests conducted during the 24-hour period to 8pm on Thursday.
Across the state there are 482 people in hospital and 125 in intensive care.
There were no new cases from overseas arrivals.
In the northern beaches, 87.2 per cent of eligible residents are now fully vaccinated, while 94.8 per cent have received their first dose.
Of the 345 locally acquired cases reported to 8pm on Thursday:
- 63 are from South Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD)
- 61 are from Hunter New England LHD
- 40 are from Western Sydney LHD
- 35 are from Murrumbidgee LHD
- 28 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD
- 25 are from Central Coast LHD
- 18 are from Sydney LHD
- 15 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD
- 12 are from Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD
- 12 are from Mid North Coast LHD
- 11 are from Northern Sydney LHD
- 7 are from Western NSW LHD
- 5 are from Northern NSW LHD
- 3 are in a correctional setting
- 10 are yet to be assigned to an LHD
