How locals celebrated freedom

THERE were queues for the barber at 6am and beers poured at 10am. After many, many days - 106, in fact - Beaches residents emerged into Freedom Day, unruly haired and a little too used to wearing active wear and thongs.

Speaking of milestones, the Northern Beaches Review celebrates 12 months of publishing online and in print this week. Keep a lookout for a bumper issue of the mag in your letterbox this week, commemorating all that is great about this area we get to call home - the pics, people and moments, a snapshot of a year and, of course, the babies of the Beaches who have spent almost half of their lives in lockdown.
