How much would you pay to have Tom Trbojevic in your side? One million a year? $1.5 million?

How about $2 million a season?

We may find out in the near future as Turbo's share price continues to soar on the back of one of the most incredible seasons we've witnessed from an individual in rugby league history.

The brilliant fullback is under contract at Manly until the end of 2025 on a deal worth just over $1 million a season. But with contracts not worth the paper they're written on these days, there is speculation a desperate club may launch a financial floater in an all-or-nothing coup attempt.

NRL GOAT Cameron Smith would, but he'd almost insist on a money-back guarantee.

"If you look at say a Bulldogs, a Wests Tigers, Cowboys, Broncos ... those teams that are down the bottom, if you pay one player $2 million, is he going to make us a premiership contender?" Smith said.

"If you've got one player taking up 20 per cent of your cap, you want to be a chance of lifting the trophy.

"It'd be up there ($2 million for Trbojevic) and I tell you who might be up for that price tag - Manly themselves, just given his value to that side. He wasn't there the first month and they're 0-4 and he turns up and they win nearly every match he's involved in.

"Clearly he's the man that makes the difference in that football side."
