Queensland is pressuring the federal government for a definitive answer on support for a regional quarantine camp it says will help more vulnerable Australians come home.
The Wagner Group wants to build a coronavirus quarantine facility at Wellcamp Airport near Toowoomba, which would host up to 1000 travellers and 300 staff.
Annastacia Palaszczuk said the Wellcamp project had merit, but it would not get off the ground without support at the federal level.
"It's a very simple question, are you interested or not?" the premier said on Friday.
With responsibility of allowing airlines to land at Wellcamp in the hands of the Commonwealth, she said the success of the Wagner project hinged on cooperation between both levels of government.
"If they want charter flights to go into Wellcamp, they can make it happen," she said.
"It's got to be a two way partnership, it's not one person said something and one person said another. You either want to work together collaboratively and get it to happen or you don't."
Ms Palaszczuk said John Wagner had provided the details of his proposal to the federal government, but Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he's yet to see the specifics.
"There's been a lot of going backwards and forwards, but as yet the Commonwealth doesn't have a costed proposal that we could actually consider," Mr Morrison said on Friday.
The regional camp to quarantine international arrivals was first floated by Queensland in January after six people tested positive to the UK strain of the virus at Brisbane's Grand Chancellor Hotel.
The cluster resulted in a snap three day lockdown for the Greater Brisbane area.
