Organic veggie course

Learn the basic skills to grow some of your own organic herbs and vegetables. This beginners course will cover the following: learn a simple method of starting a new veggie garden; learn the difference between organic gardening and toxic chemical gardening; learn about the connection between healthy gardens and healthy people; and experiential learning by building a new garden. Pittwater beauty on show

The bays, beaches and natural beauty of Pittwater is the inspiration behind the latest exhibition at The Studio. Local artists Gemma Rasdall and Owen Crick joint exhibition features thoughtful, calming works that intimately capture what the Pittwater lifestyle means. It's on at Careel Bay Marina from Friday. It's open 8am until 6pm Monday to Saturday, Sunday hours vary. Entry is free.

The passionate volunteers at the Northern Beaches Art Society presents their annual awards exhibition for the impressive 75th year. The show includes seascapes, landscapes, still-lives, abstracts, fauna and flora works from local artists. It opened this week and runs until Sunday, March 14, at Creative Space daily from 9am-5pm.

To coincide with International Women's Day, a maker and creators' market is being held to celebrate and showcase the creative talents of northern beaches women this Sunday. Come along to browse or buy, with art, craft, jewellery, accessories, clothing and products they've made, designed or created. It's on at James Meehan Reserve from 8am to 1pm. Entry is free.
