Northern beaches what's on: Express Yourself exhibition on in Manly

AWARD winning artworks by 2020's HSC visual art students are on show at the Manly Art Gallery and Museum.

Express Yourself is an annual curated exhibition of artworks has been created by students from 20 high schools across the northern beaches, with a diverse bodies of works including multi-media, digital, sculpture and drawing.

Two artists were singled out as Theo Batten Youth Artist Award winners, with the gong presented to students continuing tertiary study in the arts. They included Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus student Heather Trett for Lost and Found and Northern Beaches Secondary College Freshwater Senior Campus student Renee Gaspar for Natura Morte.

Winners of the MAG&M Society Youth Award were: Grace Seeto (Davidson High School) for Untitled, Madeleine Arens (St Luke's Grammar School) for Treachery of Images, and Ella Fu (Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus) for To Be Continued.

Also on show at MAG&M is the Artists' Book Award which attracts entries from around the world. From the exhibited selection of finalists, judges choose several books to be acquired and added to the library's collection, which is the only one of its kind in a NSW local government library collection.
