A MAN has been left with chest and facial injuries and a teen charged after footage from a violent beach brawl in Newport emerged.

The shocking images show a man being beaten by a group of people who kicked and punched the victim as he cowered on the ground in a reserve behind Newport Beach at 8pm on Wednesday.

The video of the violent attack shows two men stomping on the victim as tries to cover his head.

NSW Police have confirmed that a 17-year-old boy has since been arrested.

"Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command have been investigating the fight in Bert Payne Park on Barrenjoey Road at Newport, after multiple calls were made to triple-0 reporting the incident about 8pm," a police spokesperson said.

"The crowd had dispersed by the time police arrived; however, investigations revealed a 22-year-old man had allegedly been kicked after falling to the ground, suffering chest and facial injuries."

Following further inquiries, a 17-year-old boy was arrested at a home at Newport about 7pm on Thursday.

He was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with affray.

The teen has been refused bail to appear at a children's court Friday.

Inquiries are continuing.
